Our goal is to make planning your vacation a seamless, stress-free experience. What sets us apart from other agencies is the relationships that we have with our vendors and contacts as well as our clients.
Our #1 goal is to create the feeling of a concierge service for our clients. . We’re here to ask questions and truly give you the best vacation that you may not even know you wanted. We want to help you match your wants and needs with a customized vacation experience—whether you’re planning a quick weekend getaway or the trip of a lifetime.
Our agency was originally founded by Eric Rudolph, a disabled veteran, in 2001 under the name of Buckingham Travel. It went through many changes over the years and eventually became Alternative Travel Services in 2015. Lars purchased the business from Eric in 2017. Because of Eric’s passion and dedication for helping the disabled, Lars has continued to focus on the disabled and veteran communities and how to help them experience the trip of a lifetime.
I have more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Before opening my agency in January 2016, I was a Regional Business Development Manager for Sandals and Beaches Resorts.
While working for them, I got to travel extensively all over the Caribbean and Mexico as well as the US. I worked closely with travel agents across the county in training them on how to sell and market their agency. After two years of working with them, I realized that I could bring something completely different to the table for my clients, hence me opening Alternative Travel Services.
Prior to working for Sandals and Beaches Resorts, I have been a national sales manager for several transportation companies, a corporate sales manager for Red Lion Hotels and a catering and convention service manager for Hyatt Hotels as well as two internships at Walt Disney World.
My wife and I are lucky to have a 5-year-old daughter, and we travel extensively with her. We understand the challenges of traveling with children and will assist you in making it as easy as possible. I am also a Special Needs Group Certified Accessible Travel Advocate. I also have several clients with disabilities and have planned extensive trips for them around the world.
My passion and experience for the travel industry, has helped me create long lasting relationships across the world. This is what makes me different than your ordinary travel professional. By having these relationships and experiences, I can ensure that you get that customized trip each time, while saving you time and money.
I have been in the travel industry since 2018 but I have loved to travel my entire life. Now, not only do I get to plan and book amazing vacations for others but I learn so much about the world while I do it
I have been to Hawaii over 5 times and have family who live there, so I have extensive knowledge about the area and a great source of information. In addition to Hawaii, I have cruised the Caribbean and traveled around Europe multiple times.
Europe is my favorite destination because of its incredible culture. The people, history, food, wine, and incredible views are unlike anywhere else in the world. I have been all over Italy, as well as Paris and Barcelona, and I think it’s something that everyone needs to experience at least once.
I have also helped plan over 12+ destination weddings since I started as a travel agent and have 7+ more planned for the next year. I am also in the process of planning my own wedding so I have both first-hand and second-hand experience in the planning process.
Being a younger adult in the travel business is quite rare these days and that’s what makes me stand out in this industry. I can provide insight, opinions, and amazing vacations that you may not get from other agencies.
